Dashboard / metadata / information upon Collibra operating model (changes)
Dear
Is their a accessible way in order to retrieve an overview of who added an Asset type, Domain type, Characteristics,… (changes towards the operating / meta model) and or a visual overview of the modified models?
I am aware you can retrieve a lot of that information yourself through the API’s, but for this I am really looking for
a more business friendly solution OOTB.
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards
Axel

Hi Axel,
We have a workflow that focuses exactly that, being able to track this in a business-friendly way.
Please find it here: https://marketplace.collibra.com/listings/operating-model-reverse-engineering-omre/
Free to download and use!
Cheers,
Stijn

Hi Stijin,
This workflow is really helpful for the users who doesn’t have settings access. It is running fine when I run the workflow with no count of assets and bringing the metamodel into the catalog. But if we run to get the count for all the assets it is failing. I have opened a ticket with support team .
Any help will be greatly appreciated…

Hi @mahender.x.shankesi.gsk.com ,
according to the log-files it seems that you’re using the old version of the OMRE. Could you please download the latest one (1.1.1) and try again. In 1.1.1 few bugs have been fixed.

Hi @mahender.x.shankesi.gsk.com , I am currently facing issues with the OMRE module as well.
I worked fine until the latest upgrade of DGC 2021.1 ,
now we are getting:
"
com.collibra.common.exception.CollibraException: workflowNotStarted
Params: [OMRE - Extraction and Report]
Message: org.flowable.common.engine.api.FlowableException: problem evaluating script: javax.script.ScriptException: com.collibra.common.api.exception.ApiException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid UUID string: null
at com.collibra.dgc.core.workflow.activiti.WorkflowEngineImpl.lambda$getProcessInstanceExecutor$5(WorkflowEngineImpl.java:476)
at com.collibra.dgc.core.workflow.activiti.WorkflowExceptionHandler$Executor.execute(WorkflowExceptionHandler.java:178)"
I know they did some changes in order to include complex relations within the insights layer,
but not sure if this is related and / or we are the only ones facing this issue with DGC 2021.1 .
We have the latest OMRE version configured.
As I am currently used of Collibra, they are redirecting towards the third-party vendor for this integration;
hope this will not result in the same outcome as we faced in the past where a similar issue raised
which ended up in a lot of communication between us, Lucid Technologies and Collibra where none of them took ownership and eventually no working solution was found. I personally have my doubts about this approach where Collibra offers those kinds of solutions on behalf of others but you are pretty left on your own when problems arise.
Seems they don’t really take those integrations into account when upgrading etc. which makes them really sensitive to break.
Will keep you posted.
Kind regards,
Axel
